Ride4UnitedWay Gran Fondo che i benefici 2017
Join us on Sunday, August 13, 2017 for the ninth annual Ride4UnitedWay – Gran Fondo che i benefici.
Whether you are an experienced fitness or recreational rider, a club rider or racer, or just getting back into cycling, the ride has distance and courses which will appeal to all abilities.
The ride this year begins and ends in Whitby at the Durham District School Board. There will be great on course support with rest stops and mechanical assistance provided by our local bike shop partners. There will be lunch, showers and a massage at the finish line. There is $1,500 in cash prizes available for those who wish to participate in the 5KTT/KOM which is embedded in the 100 and 160 km courses.
All new for 2017 is our “Mystery Ride”. The course details will not be revealed until the morning of the ride. There will be minimal on road support. (Riders will begin and end at our DDSB home base, and will depart with the mass start group at 8 am). Riders should be able to complete approximately 150 k’s (as a tribute to the 150 anniversary of Canada). Riders will be given a map and a GPX file. Riders may ride in groups, and the course will include parts of a gravel trail, but there will be no cross or trail component. Those who complete the route will be eligible for themed 150 celebration prizes (they’re a mystery). Join us for a challenge, riding approximately 150 mystery kilometres in Durham.
You’re invited to join us for a great day on the bike. Fundraising is not mandatory, but greatly appreciated. Your support will help more than 200 local programs aimed at helping to fight poverty, give kids a better start and help families in crisis.
