Teaming Up for a Better Community

The United Way of Durham Region is proud of its relationship with the Oshawa Generals. We congratulate the team for their over 75 years of play in this community. And look forward to many more years of exciting and enjoyable “Generals Hockey”.

The United Way supports more than 25 local charities which provide service to people all across Durham Region. The great strength of the United Way is the breadth and diversity of the support which we enjoy which is a fitting match to the breadth and diversity of the nature of services which our donors help to make possible. From food banks and shelters for women and children to programs which support seniors and/or those who face the challenges of living with a disability: This single broad community wide effort helps seniors, kids, and families alike in myriad ways.

“Teaming up to build a better community” is at the core of why we were created 75 years ago. We are proud to be “Teaming up” with the Oshawa Generals, and particularly proud that Allan McShane, Serron Noel and Kyle MacLean will be scoring points on the ice and helping to build a better community for all as our “Scoring Ambassadors for the United Way”. We know that all Generals fans will cheer on their efforts, but more importantly, will join us in saluting their community leadership.

Throughout the rest of the year community partners are invited to join us as “Points 4 United Way Partners”. The financial contribution from our partners for each cumulative point registered by Allan, Serron and Kyle will support the critical work of more than 25 charities all across Durham Region.
